Misdemeanor Domestic Violence Charge Dismissed for California Man
Aug 23, 2018 by Criminal Defense, Domestic Violence inSometimes people charged with criminal offenses represent themselves in court, only to find that they need an attorney to truly help them understand the intricacies of the criminal justice process. Such was the case for a California man who tried to defend himself in a misdemeanor domestic violence case. After he did not receive the outcome he hoped for he reached out to Michael McKneely, Criminal Defense Lawyer for help. He did this in an attempt to avoid the harsh penalties of a conviction (including a year in jail, 10 years without firearms, and having a criminal protective order against him).
After reviewing the facts and details of the case, in addition to interviewing the alleged victim, attorney McKneely was able to set the matter for trial and push forward with the client’s defense. On the eve of the trial, the prosecution ended up dismissing the case.
The outcome of an individual case depends on a variety of factors unique to that case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any similar or future case.
