A Man Facing 10 Years in Prison Achieves Sobriety and Success

As an experienced criminal defense attorney Michael McKneely understands that what really matters is to help his clients get back on their feet and better their lives. In a recent case, a Fresno man, who already had several felony and misdemeanor cases open, hired attorney McKneely when he faced more than 10 years in prison.

The various charges stemmed from fighting with the police and his wife while he was under the influence on several occasions, violating protective orders, and driving under the influence. Throughout the time that he and attorney McKneely worked together, he began a lifestyle change and attended countless AA meetings in addition to undergoing a six-month inpatient treatment program.

Attorney McKneely touted the man’s progress and aggressively negotiated on his behalf. In the end, the client pled guilty and the court agreed to a stayed sentence and allowed him to complete probation. Additionally, the court ruled that his time in rehab should be counted against his sentence, so ultimately, he did not have to serve any additional time in custody.

Now, completely sober and free of criminal influences, this client is now is excelling as a foreman and is responsible for the completion of the firm’s jobs.
